Project Description
This contract included the construction and fit-out of the Long Island Railroad Terminal Concourse located within the existing structures of Metro North Railroad. Five Star Electric's scope of work involved the installation of seven electrical substations with associated raceways and feeders to distribute both 13kv and 480v power throughout this facility, including a new electrical service from Con Edison, installation of over 8,000 lighting fixtures, and 250,000 feet of branch conduits for various electrical and mechanical systems. Also included was the installation of approximately 600,000 feet of empty raceways for use under adjacent contracts within this facility as well as providing a complete grounding system throughout the complex and replacement of two 13kv substations for Metro North on the Biltmore level of the project.
